Juan Vincente Lladro, of the Spanish sculpture design
family, unveils one of the company's new Humanitas statues at a recent
ceremony.
Lladró said he considers Humanitas
to be his generation's mark on the 50-year-old company. They still
represent human life, as all Lladró figures do, he said, but they
differ from other series in that all of the figures are nude, to give a
timeless feel, and convey more poetic messages.
"The themes of the new
Humanitas line are more unique. They have more to do with the
inspirations of humankind," Lladró said.
Humanitas is one of Lladró's most surprising
and inventive projects. An evocative, dreamlike
world of symbolism.
Eight sculptures representing the longings and
desires of humankind, the flow of life, the quest
and discovery of reason, emotions and dreams.
The Humanitas Collection is only sold at a handful of very limited dealers. We are proud to present this exciting new collection.
